PAVEL ČERNÝ

Pavel Černý is a Senior Partner specializing in environmental, administrative and constitutional law at the law firm Šikola & Partners in Brno. For many years, he was working in an NGO Environmental Law Service, the first public interest law organization founded in the Czech Republic. Also currently he often cooperates with environmental NGOs and works on a number of pro-bono cases with that respect. From 2006 to 2011, he has been a member of the Legislative Council of the Government of the Czech Republic. In July 2011, he has been elected a member of the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee.

Mr. Černý has published numerous articles and studies in the field of administrative and environmental law and has cooperated with the Justice & Environment network on analyses concerning the implementation of the Aarhus Convention and EU environmental legislation. He has obtained his law degree at the Masaryk University of Brno in 1997 and degree in political and social science at the same university in 2000.
